Dead cockatiel

Today I walked outside to feed my birds, and here is a huge hawk sitting on top of my cockatiel cage! He some how killed a cockatiel through the bars! It was a female and I was expecting her to lay eggs soon. I am so up set

So sorry! hawks are know for attacking birds in outside aviaries. You might want to think about bringing them in or covering the aviary.

Damn that's really unlucky. When ever small birds fly through the bars of my hawks aviary he never bothers with them. I hope you can get another or something to replace t because that is just such a shame!

How far away are the bars? Maybe if the bars were closer together it would be harder for the hawk to reach through?

Sorry for your loss.
I personally think it must be very traumatic for any birds to be outside, in a cage, when a danger of a hawk attack is a threat. Imagine what goes through the birds mind, knowing that the hawk is coming, never knowing whether they will be safe of not.
