Beemers nose looks dirty and she sounds weezy how do I clean her nose holes? She seems fine and is eaating good..

If she sounds wheezy, I think a vet visit is in order even though there aren't any other symptoms yet. I believe that could be a sign of aspergillous, which can be very serious.

You don't, I am sure if there was a problem she would clear it herself. They do use their toenails to clear their nose. LOL.

However I would consider a vet visit if the wheezing persists. There is a possibility she has an upper respiratory infection. Staining of the feathers above the nostrils can be a sign. Problems in the respiratory system are quite common in birds. The problems can be divided into two groups.

Those affecting the upper respiratory tract nose, sinuses & windpipe. OR.

Those affecting the lower respiratory tract air sac & lungs. It is common for the disease to begin in the upper airways & then spread to the lower airways.

So it is important to take notice of any changes even if it's nothing.

If she's got nasal discharge and that's what's making her nares dirty then a vet visit is definitely in order. If they're just dirty because she's a messy eater or something she'll take care of it herself, I think. Kazi gives a good sneeze a couple of times a day but the vet told me as long as there's no discharge it's just from dust after preening (when he usually does it) or from the air and nothing to worry about. He told me nasal discharge was a sign something was wrong though and to bring him in ASAP because they can go downhill fast.

I'm less concerned about the sneezing than the wheezing. Pete is sneezing more right now but he is molting like crazy and making dander and little pieces of feather sheath like crazy. I have to brush off my pants after he's been sitting here on me preening as there are little sheath pieces everywhere.

After Kazi has been on my shoulder preening it looks like I have the worst case of dandruff ever. Sometimes I remember to brush it off before I leave the house :/

Merlin leaves an actual big white spot of dust on my shirt. With Petey it's mostly feather sheath pieces I see on myself, but his dust doesn't seem to fly as much until he shakes himself off or flaps his wings. Merlin must be a dust ball though as today I had a big white oval on my black shirt, lol!
