How would you disinfect a cage bought from craigslist? I found a good large one, but I don't know what precautions to use if I end up getting it. Thanks <3:o

I usually stop on the way home and wash it at the carwash. Then once home I finish cleaning and then disinfect with FC10 @ 1:250 dilution. Let it dry in the sun for 2-3 days.

I don't like to use any bleach on cages as it is corrosive.

F10 is a great disinfecting product that is safe for birds, reptiles, etc. and it kills everything (they use it for nebulizing reptiles, birds, etc. with upper respiratory infections, that's how safe it is).

Besides F10 Disinfectant, you only want to use all-natural, unscented cleaners that are made from plants, such as Green Works, or any of the ones you can find in your local grocery store/natural foods store...OR, White Vinegar and hot water is also great. Or Red Wine Vinegar and hot water...
