Sound just like our eccy... except the whistles are so clear. There must me a good human whister around for Max to copy (I can't whistle much so birds have no one to learn from :)). Just made up a CD of rock/pop/various songs with lots of whistling in them (Jealous Guy, Col Bogey's March/River Kwai March etc) in the hope our birds have something to copy. Our new baby 'tiel Pavarotti Junior is already a great whistler and mimic. Alex the eccy whistles infrequently even though he shares the verandah during the day with a good whistler, Coco the rainbow lori.

Yeah I suck at whistling too, so if it were left to me my bird would have no hope XD But I found these mp3 downloads you can buy from a professional whistler who released these specifically for birds. They're only $0.99 each, so I'm going to buy them because the whistles are so pretty.

I put some of those tunes on my CD (left out Andy Griffiths though :)). Haven't checked iTunes au yet, but we're ripped off by Apple- cheapest tunes are $1.69 many are $2.19. Apparently it costs Apple more to do business here despite the fact they're not here! We pay nearly double for CDs too...

Between my pair, only Gracie whistle while JoJo does most of the talking. :)

It's funny because I warned my family NOT to whistle around Oliver as I read when they whistle they rarely learn to talk because whistling is easier than trying to get the vocals out from their cavity. So, Oliver whistles! Yes, you read that right. The ONLY person I didn't warn was the housekeeper. I figured she wouldn't whistle. Boy was I wrong. But the happy part of this story is he talks and whistles. Life is good!

Yes! They do, and very well if, like in other posts, they have to have a good teacher. There is a yoga studio that backs onto our side garden where my boy ekkie 'boogie' spends most of his days. The yoga teacher approached me one day and asked if I had a teenage son? I don't.....she said 'someone is wolf-whistling at my girls in class' Hahahaha! One guess who!

haha Drlisa that's funny about the housekeeper. I also heard the same thing (that they might talk less if they learn to whistle) so I don't whistle around him.

Maui has never whistled, but he talk like crazy. Non stop, all day. Last night he told my two female dogs "let's go" (clear as day). That's what I say when sending them outside to pee.
