Do you need a great Amazon video right now?

I laughed so hard I cried at that one. And it was naturally a big blue front singing it's little heart out. Sounded like Portuguese perhaps? Wonder if they were in Brazil, native home of the blue front? In any case, I told my husband we are definitely getting him a guitar so him and Kiwi can sing together too:D

I have always found it interesting that amazons as a group really seem to love being spoken to in Spanish and Portuguese (which are quite similar, according to my hubby). My husband speaks Spanish and Kiwi just lights up when he does (even more when he sings to him!). Having listened to the wild jungle noises of my mom's DYH growing up, I am convinced they like how the r's are rolled in these languages (and perhaps other patterns I'd be able to point out if I actually spoke either language as well as I do wild amazon:p). Thanks for sharing this video, really made my morning!

That's the tricky part with amazons. Flared tail and pinning eyes doesn't always mean the bird is ready to attack. They also display that body language when really happy, excited and/or just thinking really hard.

To keep in mind though, a happy/excited amazon can still bite. They can get a bit too 'excited' and overstimulated when having fun.

So, guess who joined in on the singing! After all, clearly there needed to be a trio and he was happy to add to the song.

Thanks!

Fantastic! That tail is gorgeous. I need to show this to my daughter (vocal music major).

Funny, Salty's tail feathers have yet to fan out like that....mad , happy what ever, his just don't. We are on the road this weekend and Salty is home, so he'll have to wait to see that video. He loves watching videos of other birds, Amazons especially, and will talk and sing with them. Thanks for posting, it was a funny vide0.
