do you put newspaper under the playtop??

I was wondering what to put on the tray under the playtop?? won't the bird more then likely shred the newspaper if i put it there? or do i just leave it and clean it when i change the bottom newspaper?

When I put paper under Oliver's tabletop, he used to shred the corners, but I gave him some paper just for him so he would normally just chew that. But, I replaced the paper every 2 or 3 days (It didn't get as yucky as the bottom of his cage, where he poops and eats) so it wasn't much of a problem. Bella and Zora, however, don't mind the newspaper and just ignore it. They don't really enjoy paper.
