Have a lovely pineapple conure of 7 months old.. to cut a long story short. He is a very timid little.guy.previously aggrrssive in his last home but not with us. He is taking food from our hands and stepping up but just hates you getting to close...would getting another make him more confiedent. And maybe if the other one was handreared and friendly would that help.. just a thought .not in the position to buy another as yet. But wondering ..

There's no guarantee... impossibled to say, BUTTTTTT...

My thought... thingsare going well, sounds like. I'd give it some more time. Build your relationship with your timid darling. THANK YOU for caring for him!

Thank you for your reply. We have had him only a little while and some days he improves and then the next day he is back to square one. But we love him and only want the best for him. . He has come along way since we had him . Thanks

Poor little guy. It sounds like he's doing well so far. It can take a really long time for birds to really feel comfortable, and if he's already eating out of your hand, that's a great sign. It really can take months, or in some cases years, before birds really, truly adjust and bond.

TBH, introducing another bird as this one is adjusting may make the situation worse. I'd highly recommend you be patient. Birds can take a long time to warm up to a new situation but since your baby is so young it shouldn't be too long.

Remember, there's no guarantee two birds will get along. If you get a second bird, you're getting the bird for you, not as a companion for the other. They should also be caged separately to avoid territorial conflicts that can be nasty.

It was just a thought. As not had a conure before just budgies i just wanted to do what was best for him.. one thing i love about him is when your talking to him he sometumes looks at you with his head uoside down .. guess hes sizing me up. Thank you for your imput. I am learning so much ..i thought i did my research before getting boe boe but nothing is like having him..
