I first noticed it when I was vacuuming, Mio will spread his tail feathers, his eyes will get all big and red and he will rock back and forth real slow like he's in a trance.

The kids, finding this hilarious will rock back and forth and Mio will do the same thing with them.

Do your zons do this?

LOL.. Codie pins himself to the front of the Cage when I am hoovering . He also fans out his tail . He does not rock backwards and forwards, but he bobs his head up and down and trys to squawk louder than the hoover:)

Bosley flares his tail, pins his eyes and droops his wings when I am vacuuming and paces as if he's in a trance. Only time he does it.

I have read many birds like to bathe vigorously when the vacuum is running. My Eclectus is one of them. That vacuum seems to bring out the devil on our birds. Some speculate that it reminds them of a rain storm.

lol my DYH Ziggy does the exact same thing when we vacuum! Eyes pinning, wings spread a little, tail fanned ALL the way out, and she is all zoned out in a trance :) Once in a while she does this when we aren't vacuuming either. When I say to her "What are you doing Zig?" she gives me a look like "oops! You just caught me doing something I didn't want you to see!"

Max, my B&G macaw, bathes likes crazy when we vacuum and likes to squawk along with it.

So far no reaction form my new little meyers Tukki!

I was worried Ollie would be scared of the vacuum, but he seems like he likes it. He does some of the same things, like fanning his tail and squawking along.

lol Rocky will jump on the playstand and say '' HI '' over and over againg until I shut the vacum off

That's what my 'Zons & Macaw do when they are asking for a bath.

Our cockatoo reacts the most to the vacuum, shimmying to get his entire body into his water dish (big bird, small dish, funny to watch) while the vacuum is running.
