Doret from Namibia

Hi my name is Doret and I live in Namibia (Southern Africa). I have handraised 2 Vosmaeri Parrots. Lila and Pickle. I am very fond of Eclectus parrots but not the easiest parrots when it comes to feeding but after much help I got that sorted.

I also breed Gouldian Finches, Canaries and Exotic Waterfowl. I am a keen collector of different kind of plants as well like, Cycads, Ferns, Adeniums.

I also have 2 Marmoset Monkeys, 1 tame Colombian Pekin (chicken) 1 tame Japanese Kriel (chicken) and some hedgehogs, a mini dackel, a cocker spaniel, a border Collie and a Yorkshire Terrier o ja and no children.

Recently bought a 2 year old Umbrella Cockatoo that someone wasn't able to keep any longer in their townhouse and as you all might guess that's the reason for my joing this forum.

Hello Doret, your household sounds like the one we grew up in. My 1st bird was a rhode island red hen (chicken). We had her for years, she came in my bedroom to sleep @ night. Welcome to the forum & I look forward to hearing about your animals.
