Hi ya'll! I made another dry mix for the flock! Please share your opinions on it :)

INGREDIENTS:

Grains:

Hulled buckwheat 1/3 cup
White quinoa 1/3 cup
Pearl barley 1/3 cup(barley that has been slightly polished, all I could find, it's really similar to normal barley. Edit: I accidentally said buckwheat here not barley)
Rolled oats 1/3 cup

Seed:
Pumpkin seed 1/3 cup
Sesame seed 1/3 cup
Chia seed 1/3 cup
Flax seed 1/3 cup

Nuts:
Raw cashew approximately 1 tbsp
Raw almond approximately 1 tbsp
Pine nut approximately 1 tbsp
(Nuts are a minor part due to high fat content. It's still really healthy though)

Others:
Herb mix 2-3 tbsp(alfalfa, comfrey, oats, rosemary, ginseng, cayenne, sutherlandia)
Flowers 2-3 tbsp(marigold, rose hips, hibiscus, red clover, blue cornflowers)

I tried to use not mostly one thing for as much variety as possible. This mix includes 4 grains+ 4 seed+ 3 nuts+ 6 herbs+ 5 flowers or 22 ingredients :)

Grains (buckwheat, barley, white quinoa and oats)
20220424_164726.jpg
Seeds(pumpkin(chopped to help the little beaks eat it), sesame, flaxseed, chia)
20220424_164641.jpg
Nuts(pine, cashew, almond, all this was chopped for the birdies because of their little beaks)

Flower mix

(I didn't take a pic of the herbs because I forgot to and now I'm too tired/lazy to)

End result:

20220424_165257.jpg

I am satisfied with it :)

I think it's a great mix! Very nice variety! Love how you added several flowers and herbs! Hope your birdies like it :giggle:

Go ahead! You never know, maybe Cosy loves it! It doesn't include any dry veg/fruit so you'll need to supplement with fresh vegetables/fruit, even if you have dry veg in.

Oh yes definitely. Cozy loves her CHOP these days! I’m just excited to see a recipe without millet in it because I think I have an allergy/sensitivity to it.

Millet isn't 100% necessary in their diet, there is a lot of other healthy seeds to substitute:)

That mix looks great! I almost wish I could try that with Willow. But how much hulled buckwheat is used in it?
Oops forgot to add the amount!(Will do now!)

1/3 cup of buckwheat.
