dukes update

Duke bas been doing great, visited vet and thumbs up all around, she said he/she seems really healthy she said keep up with the fresh fruit as part of dukes diet, I will be sending in dukes feathers for sexing sometime next month, he behaves well still a little sketchy with strangers but will not bite hard just like a warning grab, duke steps up and comes to me when I say "come here" but is not talking yet and still poops on me every chance duke gets, and still only baths when he wants and only in his drinking water, but other than that i love the little guy, I never tought I would get attached to duke as I am, since I'm "training" duke for my mom but truth is he doesn't really like my mom...Haha, he really like me do, duke will throw a fit if someone else tries to pick duke up and I'm there,once duke sees me he won't shut up till I pick him up, I try and ignore his yelling till he calms down so he won't rely on his yelling for attention...

oh my he's gorgeous! just be careful he doesnt become a screamer, you can teach him to make a different noise to call you other than screaming. also you can have your mom give him his favorite treats so he likes her more. another thing that might help would be to pick one activity that only she provides like say dancing, birds love dancing with heir owners, that way when he/she wants to dance he/she will go to your mom but hats just an example, you can pick any activity if you want. hope this helps and good luck

My BC was shy, too, and really never wanted to be handled by strangers. Once they were here for a bit, and she saw they weren't dangerous, she would talk to them though.

I think once he/she starts talking you won't hear much screeching. BC's really like to talk!

Pete doesn't seem too fond of strangers either. Rowdy loves almost all of them, especially if they are men.

He/she is a very pretty, healthy bird though!

Mom did get the slippers , Haha but I will probably buy her another one before I can bribe her to let me keep duke...
