Eating With Feet

Do Quakers use their feet to eat? If yes, what age do they start?

It is very dependent on the individual bird if they choose to do so or not. I have birds of the same species where some do and some do not. None of my Quakers ever did that I can remember, but it was a long time ago.

Cooper always has done it. Just depends on the individual bird.

My female quaker approaches everything beak first, never uses her feet to hold food or toys. My male quaker uses his feet to hold food ant toys.

Ralph will hold some things in one foot to eat them. He's done that since I first brought him home when he was just less than six months old.

I have to laugh. Today Cabu was eating with his feet. I guess I could have waited and he'd answer my question for me.
