Eclectus Egg Hatched!!!

YES!!! We had 1 baby Eclectus chick hatch on Friday (22nd August)! YAY!!! The other 2 eggs must've been duds cos Sen ate them.

Just moving the photo now form the camera to the laptop so will post it shortly! I'll probably be taking the baby out in 2 weeks for hand-raising so I'll post photos when it moves into the new Incubator my husband (Loki) is building (it's almost finished).

So Mrs Sen has been getting eggs, peas, carrot, corn, pumpkin and Potato the past few days She's very pleased with me and not lunging at my hands which is nice!

EEEEEEEEEH! *so excited and happy*

If it's a boy we'll be sending him up to QLD to my sister-in-law/best friend. (But I'd secretly be wishing we could keep him *sobs*)

If it's a girl.. WE'LL KEEP HER MUHAHAHAHA! Not really... if it's a girl we'll keep her for a number of months to get some good, solid training into her, and THEN we'll sell her.

Haha, well it's quite hard for you to lose THAT bet!

So I gave them a whole Apple today (cut up of course and seeds taken out) and boy oh boy did Sen love THAT! She even started chowing it down before my hand left the bowl... thought she was going to attack me for a moment before she dove into the food. *phew* And whilst I was doing that i could hear the little baby chirping/squeaking away.. it sounds so strong now! EEEH!! EXCITEMENT OVERLOAD!!!

Awesome! I'm glad everything is going well for you! You, obviously, care for your flock. I will be watching this thread for updates, as I too am interested in getting Mango a mate (I know that he is) to raise together and have lil tikes too!
