I have had my Eclectus, Bogart, for over 10 years. Today, for the first time, he has been vomiting. I also have an African Grey and used to have a Molluccan, and I have never seen my birds vomit before. Can someone help me out on what is going on?

Vomiting or regurgitating? Is it liquid or just chewed food? How digested? Is he playing when it happens or resting?

It looks like regurgitating which he will do when I hold him but I had just pulled his blanket off this morning while he was perched and all at once he started doing the regurgitating thing with his neck but it was small chunks of food I had given him last night - I assume he actually ate it this morning when he awoke that was left over. I just have never seen anything other than liquid coming out during regurgitation. It worried me when I saw actual chunks of food. (It was some shredded cheddar cheese that I had given him which I only give him once in awhile, but he loves it)

Parrots do not have the ability to digest milk products. Cheese can actually block the crop and cause bacterial and yeast infections. I highly recommend your bird see an avian vet for a crop culture.

GC knows what he is talking about and I would take this advice.

^^What they said. No dairy, and be sure to take him in to the vet. Eclectus are especially dietarily sensitive.
