So yesterday, I thought I would introduce him to what the shower is. He's already used to the bathroom. He sits on the opened medicine cabinet door while I get ready for work. I have a perch in the large shower area, but he let me know it's too soon for that, so I put him on the opened cabinet door.

I decided to flood my bathroom floor by keeping the shower curtain pulled back :p so he could watch me under the "inside rain". After watching for a few minutes he started "bath-fluffing" his wings. HE WAS PRECIOUS! So I finished doing my thing.

I step out of the shower leaving a tsunami on the floor to get him at the other end of the double sink. He steps up and we step back into the shower with him still out of the water. But...he feels the splashes on my arm. Warm splashes! I changed the shower head setting to the gentler rain setting. I worked him a little closer and over the next 5 mins he was eventually under the stream LOVING it!!!! He also loved the towel dry after.

I HAVE A SHOWER BUDDY!

Before long I hope to have Emoji on the perch so he can enjoy the shower with me without my having to hold him. <3

I recently posted about BB taking a shower..with me :D All the attempts we had previously (him in the kitchen basin) were basically failures except for two times when he did do his thing for about 15 seconds.

This time we did a shower together. He sat on the shower curtain rod while I got in and did my thing. And all by himself without coaxing,he flew from the rod to my nekked shoulder. I slowly turned this way and that, letting the luke warm water bounce of me and on him. He shook a little and chirped. Then I let him walk down my arm and sit on my hand and moved him in and out of the spray. More ruffling, chirping, and basically grooving on it :p

Its great when they finally except something and actually LIKE it,isn't it??
Congrats with Emoji and lets hope he continues to love his showers.

That is sooo awesome, Jim! And yes! Acceptance is special enough I'm ready to take 3 showers a day now!!! :18:

Great step there!!!
(congrats)

now wait for the protests when you end the shower too soon for their liking ...
some days I think I'll just grow webbed feet and fingers.
I have 2 bathsponges with wings (Japie and Sunny) and one that likes to hang out, but at least does not gets quite so vocal about it (Appie).

I have 3 shower buddies so I know how you feel.

I just introduced my Golden Conure to the shower and he loves it as well. So cool to have a shower buddy!

Yay! It's too much cuteness! Emoji even likes his shower perch now. And ANYTIME water is running, he has his special bath chirp and fluffs his feathers.

Emoji must have had sink baths at one time. While I was making coffee this morning (adding creamer - nothing to do with running water) he flew off my shoulder into the sink looking at the faucet still being fluffy. I turned on the water with the stopper in and bath time was on. :-)

My shower buddy alternates between rudely laughing at me and wolf whistling.... My self-esteem is so confused. Shower buddies are awesome though :)
