HE HAS LIVE TISSUE GROWING!....WOO HOO!!!:D:D:D
BUT..... the larger piece which was broken is the piece that really is just hanging, he clipped it down somewhat, it had shifted and was overlapping his upper beak, it started to bleed just a tiny bit, which he was surprised still had live tissue there.
the smaller triangle piece that he tore from his face has now grown back onto his face(good news)
Evan will not do any more until 6-8 months from now, as he wants to see how his beak looks then.
he was encouraged by todays visit!!!!!
I asked him why he thought his tissue had grown some and his response was "he had lots of TLC & he's healthy"
so the end result is, Num Num will be able to keep 1/2 of his beak, I am so relieved and pleased.

I really want to take this time to thank everyone of you who have supported myself thru these past 2 months. You kept me positive while looking after Nummies and it means so very very much to me!!!

love to all of YOU!!!! BETH

Oh Wow! What a journey you two are on together! I remember the first awful day, looking at the pictures of Num Num's beak: it seemed so hopeless. And now look! Beth, you've been a wonderful Mum through all this and Num Num is the most courageous little fellow! Looking forward to that new beak coming in. :D :D :D

thanks everyone!!!

it really is great news.... every time I come across that miserable picture I just wince, I can barely look at it....BUT I don't have to cause that was in the past and today is today.
My little trooper is doing so well, and has endured so much these past few months, I drew strength from him and this amazing forum. you guys are just awesome. I can't thank you enough :)
Num Num and Halo(my lovebird) are best friends and today for the first time in 2 months I let them fly around together. they were both preening each other, and I got tears in my eyes.

this has been a seriously busy hectic crazy day, with feeding my baby gouldian every hour, to selling 3 gouldian finches, getting stuck in traffic for 1 1/2 hours to the vets this morning, now I have to go down to Newmarket to pick up my husband cause his car died,
then I have to come home make dinner, then feed 50 birds,,,what a day this has been, but I'm still smiling!

Wow...you put a smile on my face. With all that you have gone though you have such a positive outlook it is inspiring. I am happy Num Num (love that name. I am always saying that to Valentino or say yummy yummy)

Sounds like your day is pretty full I hope you evening goes way better with some downtime. Enjoy your family and your birds. You deserve it!!

I'm happy for Num Num.

Congrats on the great news today ! All the love you have given Num Num is paying off.
