I was VERY excited to wake up and see I had two texts this morning one was from a friend making sure I was ok and to let me know if I needed anything to let him know and he'd take care of it. The other one was from the breeder apologizing to me about not getting back to me friday and that her partners appointment didn't go well but that the birds are having really bad night frights especially Riley and the Albino one. She was also able to tell me Rileys Hatch date was June 28th which means that on thursday Riley will be 2 months old. I'm guessing thats partly why her feathers are so rough looking but I am sure the feathers will smooth out with time. Sadly because I HAD to get her at 11:30 this morning it meant Riley had to spend a few hours in her flight cage as I had to leave her at my grandmothers house while I went to my appointment today at noon (my grandmothers house is closer to the breeders than mine and I was on a tight schedule). However the entire time she was in the car , from the breeders to my grandmother and my grandmothers to my house, she kept right next to me, her travel cage was in the passenger seat both times, so I would stick my finger in the cage and she would beak it and then bend her head down to be petted which I couldnt do she didn't like that too much. Anyways now she is home and in her big flight cage. I am not going to give her any out of cage time today because I want her to get aquainted with the cage especially knowing she is prone to night frights. Plus she hasn't moved off her "foraging" perch yet but thats ok she's just getting adjusted and she went straight to sleep after I put her in there :/. And is it just me or does she have REALLY big feet for a baby? The first pic is of her in the travel cage.
