Feathers from Vane

attached is a pic of his tail feather he just lost.

When I got him his wings were clipped and thoes feathers show the worst where the feathers seem missing from the vane.

I've never seen this before on Yoda, wondering why this would happen on both the wings and the tail feathers.

Tail feathers on younger Parrots or Parrots in an undersize cage tend to wear the tips of their feathers.

Wing feathers that have been cut (Trimmed) are likely to have this kind of wear near and at the cut point. The full length feathers next to a cut (Trimmed) feather will also show this kind of wear.

In addition to the above more common causes there are others to be mindful of:
- Over preening, especially on Wing feathers near the cut ones does happen. Over preening of tail feathers is also likely with Parrots in undersized cages.
- Barbering is a concern and has possible sources in both medical and emotional.

As part of your yearly Avian Vet visit, you should discuss this during the visit.
