Feeding Roselle Hibiscus sabdariffa?

I searched everywhere. Can't find anything on it. I have a Roselle plant in my yard. My tortoise eats the flowers and leaves. I was wondering if my pionus can eat the Roselle calyx "fruit". It contains seeds in the middle. It is edible for people and lots of jams and teas are made from it. I would think it would be ok, but really want to make sure before I give it to my baby.

According to a 2011 study conducted by the Animal Husbandry Division of Chulalongkorn University, Bangkok, Thailand, yes the flowers are safe:

The study was conducted relevant to laying hens eating the plants & flowers.....
