Well, I decided this afternoon when I went home for lunch to try to give Banner his first bath. I picked up a spray bottle on the way home and filled it up with bottled water. I placed him on the tabletop perch that we bought for future training and sprayed the bottle straight up in the air so it would rain down on him. At first I couldn't tell if he liked it or if he was angry, but I think that he did enjoy it.

Here are some photos.

I know he doesn't look that wet, but I only have an hour for lunch and didn't want to completely soak him.

I put him in his travel cage after we were done with the "shower" - he got some sun and was able to dry off a bit before I put him back in his cage and headed back to work.

Thanks for looking!

Banner sure enjoyed his first spray (bath)
He loves posing OMG so cute
Sure is a handsome chap

Thanks for sharing

Awesome pics again!!! Too funny!!
One of our Zon's absolutely LOVES water.........the other one "tolerates" it

You sure are doing a great job. Lucky birdie..good thinking to get him used to his travel cage.

Couldn't help but notice the clip job, bit aggressive IMO. I realize immature males are light and can fly with lots of clipped primaries but i'd start with about 5 next time and see how he does, just my .02 worth. Very good pics.

I knew the clip would illicit a comment or two! When i looked at the photos even I thought to myself, "it looks so severe!". In person, it doesn't quite seem as extreme.

In our defense, this is how he came to us and he had apparently been clipped this way well before we even met him. They only touched up his nails before they sent him home.

Even with the clip the way it is, he glides quite smoothly and can make it a fair distance before landing on the floor. The vet took a look at the clip yesterday and said that it didn't seem too extreme - but I will take that into account the next time we have him groomed. I do think it's important for him to be able to glide well - I don't want him falling like a brick onto the floor!

Banner sure looks like he enjoyed his shower :) He is adorable.

Oh i wasn't picking on you,i used to clip my birds like that too. I find as i know my birds better that i can get away with less severe clips on some birds. Depends on you , your bird and your situation, and you know that better than I. Like i said, just my .02 worth, and that's not worth much, LOL

Wow he is a good looking guy, He is enjoying that, My amazon loved getting totally drenched, looks like your guy will too...Thanks for sharing the pics

He looks like he enjoyed his bath, thanks for posting the pics. Casper had his first bath (as opposed to showers) with us today and has been grumpy ever since. We are not sure if it was the bath upset him or if he is feeling ratty because he is moulting.
