Well Rocka has started getting her new adult feathers and while rubbing her neck today I noticed she has a lot of pin feathers all around her neck, they look very uncomfortable. What's the best way to help her break them open? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1382736028.237014.webp

I personally would just leave them alone and not break them open as they will do it on their own.

For the ones she can reach, I'm not worried about. Just these on her neck look very itchy if not painful by poking in her throat.

They will get it as they will break open on their own. I don't advise it cause you can do more harm then good if your not careful.

Lots of baths can help loosen the keratin sheaths! If the pin feathers have blood in them, leave them be. If the feathers are growing out, then you can try and help open them up by slowly pinching and rolling them between your fingers, but only if your bird allows this!

She loves neck rubs
