I’m not sure if any of you remember me as it has been a long time but I have a heartbreaking update. Babii my beloved rescue moluccan passed on some time ago. We were in the process of moving to a larger place and somewhere in the 2 hour drive with the first load of things our old place was robbed and set on fire. We wanted to take her last so she would be around familiar things and stress less. I’ll regret that forever. She went through so much to have everything taken away. My heart is still broken. I sill even now go to buy organic fruit and break down realizing I don’t need to. Here is her last picture taken, if anyone remembers her, it shows how very far she came. Fly free on rainbow bridge Babii, I’ll see you again one day.

How sad! Just try to remember the love and joy that you shared with your feathered friend. Only another bird lover can know how priveledged we are to have these creatures let us into their lives. I've lost birds tragically, and share your pain.

Thank you all for your kindness. It’s been a while now, months, but I’m still in shock. Never in a million years could I have imagined anything so evil and unexpected. They had to know she was there, I think that messes with me more than anything else. It seems so empty, and my hubby’s still taking it even worse than I am. We’ve been talking a bit about a new friend, handicapped or abused, another cast away no one else would be lucky enough to take in. I think it would make Babii happy when she looks down from rainbow bridge. She was truly amazing and I can’t count the birds saved from craigslist thanks to her by people having a baby, we’d chat and sometimes even invite them over to see her around my daughter and 9/10 realized how silly it would be to give up their bird instead of a little extra effort and common sense caution. When she would cranky cry Babii would mimic the music from her mobile and make her giggle. My eyes are a little bleary to keep typing, she was one in a hundred million. I’ll never forget her or her inspiration to so many, and please remember, don’t count out a rescue because of their past or you might miss out on witnessing a miracle first hand.

OMG, I am so sorry to hear such a tragedy, I really hope they catch those murderers. I can't imagine what your going through, you'll be in our familys prayers.
