Green cheek conure
Citron Cockatoo
3 B&G Macaws
Hello fellow parronts! I was woundering what is a good every day diet at a grat price?
I have a green cheek, citron too, and 3 macaws. My macaws are big eaters expecially my bog boy spencer:) I feed zupreem fruit and vegi blend as well as roudy bush and fruit mealey from costco. Zupreem here in spokane is almost up to $20 for 3.5 lbs!! Its getting extremely pricey along with roudybush its $15 for lb! The fruit meadley is $19 for a small bag o_o the prices are going through the roof:) im not trying to be a cheap skate but I was woundering if theirs a cheaper food out their thats good quality. What do you feed your birds that only costs an arm:)
I understand that parrots are not cheap but within the last few years their food has just skyrocketed in price;) im spending around 200 to feed 5 a month!! Persmart has the festival mix and a few others some people like are those worth it? I will not use any kaytee products not even treats I. Have always bought the diet listed above but theirs gotta be a somewhat cheaper alternative in price:eek:

You might try to order those same brands online and it might be cheaper? I'm not sure. That's the only thing I can think of and maybe buy in bulk? Haha

The bad thing about online is I don't have a credit card or even bank card:( I don't want to ruin my credit and I don't like banks:) I wish they had cash metods haha!

You should check into some of the recipes here on the message board. I've found that it's a lot cheaper to offer more people food with a base of pellets. The seed/fruit mixes can almost be made yourself cheaper in some cases by buying those ingredients in bulk. Fresh veggies aren't too expensive, and there's lots of bean/pasta options as well. It just takes more prep time.

All my babies get a wide variety of foods. Let me see if I can dig up some of the recipes I feed them. :)

Well, they have pre-paid credit cards where you put cash on them and its like a gift card. Maybe you could try that. :)
And they don't go against your credit. It's basically putting cash onto a card.
