So my CAG Frankie broke his toy and when I take it out of the cage he screams! I tried to rehang it and he screamed. I walk away and he still screams....is he playing a game with me?

He may have been or he's being pissy.... I usually tell mine to quiet down when I know they're being little stinkers. First thing my macaw do when he hears my car pull up is scream. Until I take him out....

I told him to quiet down....but every time I touch the toy he screams and then if I walk away and leave the toy....he still screams. I stand in front of his cage and ask him what he wants exactly and he stares at me quietly!

Lol aww! That's kinda cute but it must be stressful. What is the toy and is it dangerous that it's broken? If it's not a hazard I would just leave it there. Does he let you take him out of his cage yet?

The toy is mostly just rope and a couple of plastic things and a bell....the toy itself isn't broken but he chewed through the rope that it hangs from. Frankie still doesn't want to be taken out of his cage....however he will put one foot on my hand while he is perched inside his cage. So we are getting there!

Oh well that's good!! If the toy isn't a hazard then I would just leave it in there.

I was more then willing to leave it in there but Frankie keeps screaming....if I walk away and the leave the toy in his cage....he screams.....if I try to take the toy out of his cage....he screams....I tried to figure out how to re-hang the toy and he screams! I think its almost bed time for him and me!

Maybe you need to put him in a different room while you mess with the toy. I had a bird once that don't like me messing with his toy either.

The tantrums of our fids.:p Sterretjie screams and go for my hands when ever I try and rearrange her toys in her outdoor aviary. She is VERY possessive about them.

I think Frankie is just angry cause his toy broke and he is fighting with you because it is obviously your fault.

It sounds as if your bird has picked this toy for a mate. It may wear off in time.

Frankie has allowed me to remove the toy from his cage only with the understanding that I would replace it with another toy! He is too cute!!!
