Hey everyone...been a while since I've been able to visit. Very very busy life as of now...UGH!

Had some time with Franklin in the tub today. It was a rather warm day today so I figured he'd enjoy a bath other than his daily dip in his water dish. Oh how he loves the water! I wish I had some better pictures of him playing, but they were too blurry.

He is such a dear, I can't imagine my life without him...and while at the petstore the other day, I saw and absolutely adored a Gold Capped Conure...oooh so hard to walk away...but it was necessary as 6 birds are PLENTY!

Anyway, I mostly wanted to pop in and say "HELLOOOOO!" I miss my daily "lurk & chat" :D;):p

Did he start bathing like that on his own because i have to hold my hands over the sink and my bird plays under the trickle but id like for her to do it on its own

Unfortunately....No, he didn't start out loving his bath in the tub...in his water dish in his cage...YES...but the first time I tried him in the tub...he freaked out! :11:

Soooo...I started bringing him in the bathroom a lot, and let him play in the tub with no water, then I'd run the water with the drain open and let him see the water trickling, but he could stay at the other end of the tub, then I filled the tub a little bit so he could walk in and out of the water at his will...we also have cockatiels who love to wade in the water...they don't splash around, but they do like to walk in and out of the water....so once Franklin was pretty comfortable being in the tub with the little bit of water, I put him in with the tiel's and let them "show him" how it's done.

And after a few months he decided this bath stuff was pretty cool and now he's just a water rat!

:)

I also love to soak in the bath, so everytime I'd have my tub time...I'd bring Franklin in the bathroom and let him hang out on the side of the tub while I was in the bath. So he could see it wasn't a scary thing.

Good Luck with your conure. :D

I love the second to last one where he's looking at the camera straight on, and you can see his eyes bulging out on each side. So freaking cute.
