I just tricked Fred into weighing himself. Some sunflower seeds within reach, and he just walked right on the scale. He weighs 607grams. Considering that this is an evening weight, I don't think he's overweight?

I don't either, especially for an evening weight. Sounds like a normal YNA weight to me.

I'm very relieved...I've been thinking he may be overweight because he seems to have a bit of cleavage. I can feel his keel, though. I'm glad he's a good weight although I think I'll continue to keep an eye on the calorie content of what he eats. I don't want Fatty Liver Disease, or any other weight related problems, considering that I have no Avian vet.

You're a good parront, Sharon. :)

Thanks...that's nice of you to say.:)

Freddie is lucky to have such a caring guardian Sharon
You are always one step ahead

According to Avianweb.com the average weight for a YNA is 480-680 grams so Fred is doing well =]

lol Sharon I FEEL YOUR PAIN!

I got Cal to stand on her scales purely because she was being nosy when I was wrapping a present! She is normal for her age thank goodness!

Freddie looks the picture of health though, he's such a gorgeous boy. I could watch him all day.....I think we're all due a new Fred Fix you know *hinthinthint* :D

A Fred Fix...That's cute!!!! LOL!~ I'll see what I can do!

Thanks Ant...I probably worry more because I have no Avian vet. I feed a really healthy diet, keep cages clean, make sure there's exercise(or at least I try) and I do a lot of reading on Avian health. I'm trying to prevent problems, although that's not always possible. If anything goes wrong here, my heart would break...
