Freshly chopped fruits, check.
Freshly cooked veggies of all colors and varieties, check.
Freshly cooked legumes, beans and grains to make a complete protein, check.

Your ekkie wanting seed and pellets, heartbreaking.

My next stop, incoming from Amazon are sprouting dishes! I will prevail!

What pellets are you feeding your ekkie??? What you can try is to cut the amount of seeds/pellets or remove them completely and just provide water and fresh stuffs during the day and feed minimal seeds/pellets during evening time.

That is what I do. Provide the seed/pellet mix as a treat and he acts like he is starving :( Fresh fruits and veggies in the morning, then a warm mash or chop at night and when he is done, I provide a small amount of volkman seed and zupreem natural pellets. Which he LOVES. Its all he loves though :( He is still wanting to be hand fed less and less.:D

It sounds like you are giving him the right foods. Maybe you need to rethink the order you feed though. Try the chop in the morning:

I sprout lentils and garbanzos, sometimes mung beans. Along with those sprouts, this bowl contains kale, thawed frozen peas and corn, raw carrots, raw celery, frozen lightly cooked grated winter squash, raw jalepenos, raw tart apple, oranges, cooked brown rice, cranberries, hulled hemp seeds, milk thistle seeds.

I am trying to remain as quiet as possible, but he is eating his chop now :)

I just got my sprouting equipment today, so I'm looking forward to that!

I made a pretty small chop of zucchini, collard greens, bell peppers, jalapenos, carrots, celery and when I warm it up I am mixing into a mixture of cooked Quinoa, whole wheat pasta, lentils and brown rice. In a separate bowl offering papaya, apple, and strawberries. Should I mix those in as well?

I still haven't found something he LOVES yet. He does seem to prefer apple more. Ugh hes squawking a bit now, I know he would destroy a bowl of seed/pellets. I'll give him another hour or so :)

I never feed the chop or mash hot. Ever. And yes I would add the fruits. Try just a bit and see what he thinks. The reason I mix it together, especially with youngsters, is they might accidentally eat something they wouldn't normally eat if it is included with things the do like or are familiar with.

Also, its common for them to not be too sure about a food but if you keep offering it they will eventually try it. Now not everything of course, because they too have things they just don't want and it is an individual bird preference. But generally they will eventually give it a go.

I do like getting the healthiest things in them first thing in the morning or maybe I should say at their first meal, because not all birds are ready to eat first thing in the morning. Youngsters usually are though.

After the bird is about a year old they may get a bit pickier so its nice to keep trying lots of different foods when they are young so they know to expect variety and are willing to try new stuff.

If he is eating everything (or at least trying everything) you have described, you are doing great!

I put cheese sauce on everything for a week or too then I backed off to less and less. My zon now eats everything! LOL

reading through these i see most mix all together, where as i feed mine all veggies in morning none ever cooked, lunch well 2 pm they get all the fresh fruits, at dinner they get a warm meal of manly what ever im having for dinner.

on the bright side, I have tried fruits that I never have before :) On the other side, a hungry eclectus is something I would be ok with not hearing again :)

I went to a local parrot shop earlier this week to buy toys at feeding time and immediately said I heard a hungry ekkie among ALL the hungry birds, and there he was being hand fed. Cutie!

Same day a previously rescued cockatoo flew to me from the owners shoulder. 10 year old never taught to step up :( It made me feel like a good parrot friendly mom/person :) Oh and he was soooo soft <3
