GCC feeding new bird...

DH brought home a new parakeet today while I was away. He put it into my GCC's cage and said that the GCC was puking and trying to feed the new arrival. What?!?

New bird is in it's own cage now. But I'm wondering if anyone else has seen such friendly behavior towards a brand new bird before? Should I not allow it in the future or what?

It does happen.... either as a parent-offspring thing, or possibly as a mate-mate thing. Although it wasn't smart of your DH to do that, at least you know they get along! (and hopefully will continue to get along)

The two can't hybridize, so there may be little harm in it, but that may depend on your birds and their behavior.

Nope, "love at first sight" is over. He behaves when I'm around, but is a brat if only HD is watching them.
