On a good note, my GCC has finally warmed up to me and my wife and will step up on our fingers, but I do have a another question. I have toys in his cage but he never seems to play with any of them. I have always heard that they like to play with and destroy their toys but I my GCC, DaVinci has not done any of that. Is this something that I should be concerned about?

How long have you had him? When we first adopted Charlie, I was worried because he didn't really seem to be playing with his toys at least for the first few weeks. Now he is in full destroy mode and needs a new batch. If he seems pretty happy, he's probably OK. It takes a little while for them to feel comfortable enough to start playing and are probably more interested in keeping an eye on you guys for now. You can try hiding treats around the cage for him to find (bits of millet, veg, fruit, or Charlie's favorite, almond bits) and help him get to know that his cage has fun things to discover. I know a lot of GCC like bells and Charlie is no exception (he attacks his) so you might try putting a toy with a bell in there, just make sure its parrot safe! :) Glad he's warming up to you guys, they are really fun birds.

My GCC was ignoring any toys I put in his cage for the longest time. I think I have finally found one that he's interested in now though! It's a wooden bear with ropes hanging from it, and plastic rings at the end of the ropes. Everytime he goes over to investigate it, I let him know he's a good boy!
