Hey all
I'm Sharn and I was recently (and unexpectedly) given a gorgeous little Green Cheek Conure who I have named Phoenix, but use Nix for short.
I didn't recieve any information about (I will refer to Nix as a her even though I have no clue of gender yet) her regarding age, athough she was quite young and is currently going through her first molt, gender or even species- I had to work that one out on my own too haha.
She is my first bird since my budgie at 12 years old, over ten years ago, and GCC are a hell of a lot different to budgies lol So yeah, I am fumbling through this a bit cluelessly but have and continue to spend every free moment sucking in as many facts and ideas as I can, however its a minefield of contradictions out there in the world wide web.
Anyways, I am in my early twenties, from Australia and my hobbies currently include playing with, researching and cage hunting for my beautiful birdy.
I'm beyond smitten with my little buddy and she has given me a reason to get up, and to live, each day. I suffer with anxiety which often prevents me from leaving the house, but now that I have her I can push through it (more often) to brave the, usually terrifying, trip to the supermarket because I know that she is depending on me.
Wow, sorry for the rambling and nonsense but I just couldnt picture being without her now.
I look forward to talking to and getting to know some of you and your feathered friends.
Lots of love; Sharn and Nix
