Getting bird out of the cage.

Today my bird came out the cage for first time and he was great, I was just curious to how often or how much time my bird should be spending out of his cage?

Hi welcome,
The cage is for when needed for safety, a retreat and sleeping. I'm all for fully including them in your life.
I attach perches outside top and sides, with food and water dishes and when out that is mine home base. They have other stations around the home to hang out with me.

A more general guide is 4-6 hours a day. More is better for such smart and social creatures.
