So we are learning that Ellie is a little faker. She lunges at everyone and everything she has any concern about, or if she is just not in the mood. I'm used to Foo, if she lunges..well she will bite. Ellie however does not. No ones been bit at all when she is called on her bluff.

She would like to stay on my shoulder and eat my shirt. (I can see I'm not going to wear any good shirts with her, since she is turning them to swiss cheese) Well I've seen over bonded birds, so I'm not going with it. She IS going to everyone in the house. She will lunge at them like crazy till they demand a step up, where she will then step up..or if she thinks she might get away with run like the wind..or wattle away quickly. My husband she's learned to just grin and bare it. She goes to him briskly now without fuss. My daughter though is getting a ton of sass cause she's nervous about being bit and her feelings are hurt since birds usually adore her.

See this?

Fake!
(yes her colors looked washed out since it's a flash, she is much prettier in the sun)

The other one she really really loves in this house is Foo. I have no idea why since Foo would like to eat her face. She has been trying to sneak over to Foo...move slow...lay down low when close...If Foo looks at her...RUN to Mom. She made me giggle when Foo was up on my monitor and I had Ellie on her stand right next to it. Ellie snuck off her stand and peaking over my monitor at Foo. I would just see this tiny face pop up and make a cute little noise and then tuck back down. All that went well till Foo noticed and then chased her into my lap. I think she is wearing her down though. I notice Foo alows her to stay near her now for quite some time before pretending to just notice.

For not really wanting to add to our flock..I'm loving every minute of it.

Haha so you're learning Ellie is really a nice girl :). No fakers here lol. Just wait, I bet Foo will eventually warm up to her too!

She's such a pretty girl, Kristine! I have to laugh at her sneaking close to Foofany, I have a feeling she doesn't know what she's getting into. I hope Foo's...err...friendlier behavior continues.

I love that Ellie is getting on so well with you. Your daughter will win Ellie over too,

That first picture is definitely a Blue Crown bluff. Feathers are all flat. Rosco can sometimes lunge at me if I am scratching Tootsie. He wants to protect his girl. When he does it with intent, his head feathers are usually puffed up. If he is bluffing, they are always flat.

Sounds like Ellie is really doing well and fitting in. Maybe it is a Blue Crown trait to want to make friends with other birds. Rosco wants to make friends with my Senegal. But that is a really bad thing to want to do because Sid has a bad attitude when it comes to other birds. He will attack and try to hurt if anyone gets too close. Hopefully Foo will come to accept Ellie and be friends.

Even if hers is fluffed she still doesn't bite. She got so mad at my husband because he was touching HER Foo that she was lunging, feathers up and spitting. As soon as he told her step up she was like...Oh you got me, no hard feelings.
