American Bulldog Mix,
So I just realized that we have picked out a boys' name, but no girls' name for my expectant baby. We are going to find out the sex in 6 weeks or so, but it doesn't hurt to pick out names. I want a name that's as beautiful as the fall, or as unique as the spring. What do you guys suggest for a girl? Also I'm mixed- Filipino, Mohican Native American, and African American, as well as Caucasian (but I'm sure that one is obvious),so names that are Mohican, African, or Filipino, and their pronunciation would be amazing as well.

My hubby and I did one thing really well: disagreeing about baby names. The book The Baby Name Wizard and this website helped us look at names based on names we liked. Because of that, we did manage to come to names we both like, even if it was within the last week of pregnancy it was finally decided.

Some of my favorites hubby didn't like:

Hazel
Amber
Autumn
Daisy
Bridget (this was going to be Scooby’s name, but he was just too boy for it.)
Eleanor
Matilda (This was going to be Pingu’s name, but well, he was a boy.)
Marlo
Carly (or Carla)
Andrea
Hadassah
Rebecca
Deborah
Sophia (it’s one of the most popular names, I wouldn’t use it, but I will always love it)
Abigail (same with Sophia, very popular, but I’d still consider using it because I love it so much!)
Charlotte
Mollie
Maggie

And I've blogged a lot on babies, so if you want to read up on my experiences parenting, go nuts here.
I started out with zero experience and wish I would have known more going into it. Haha! But anyway, I blogged a lot of my parenting journey to help out other moms! But some people don't want to research or hear advice so if you don't just ignore me. You'll be a fantastic mother.

A couple girl names I have liked for a long time are Willow Elise, and Cecelia Noel.

If I ever have a baby girl her name would probably be Constance Rose....(Connie for short) Constance was my mother in laws name and I never got to meet her... Rose is a family tradition for middle names. You're welcome to use it if you like.

I love Bridget and Amber, but I nannied 3 sisters, named Bridget, Caitlyn, and Amber, so I'm sure there'd be fighting over whose name was to be used as they are 3-8 years old lol I had a ferret named Noel, which is such a beautiful name, but I'd hate to name the same name as my ferrets lol, I do like Rose, though... hmm I need a first name to go with that though if I chose it. I'd like it for a middle name, so _____ Rose Wentz. This could be difficult. lol

i like french names likes chloe, celine, carine, and sabine.

however, i love the name sandy so much i named my dog. if i have a girl, she may be named after the dog.

That's how it is with me lol. My hubbya nd I had tons of animals over the years and we just kept naming them our favourite names, never thinking to reserve one for a baby lol, so all my favourite names have been taken- by cats, dogs, ferrets, hamster, reptiles, fish, etc, lol. All but 3 of pets ever have been given human names.

You could go with a classic like Dawn Rose - sunrise and the beginning of a new day ... or the Mohican Aarushi, which mean first ray of the sun - so also a dawn reference ...

Kalinda - Sun, name of mountains in Mohican, beautiful in Spanish ...

indiana jones was named after the family dog lol! it would be a funny story for a kid's name. that's what i'd tell mine if i ever have any lol.

Lol I don't think my kid would like it but I everyone else would laugh lol how do you pronounce aarushi

Indiana Jones was not his given name, but what he chose for himself, as he thought Henry was too boring, and his Dad (Sean Connery) scoffed and said "Indy's the DOG'S name!"

I believe it's pronounced Ah-ROO-shee emphasis on the middle syllable.
