Glass cages?

I found some glass panels in the basement today, they are about 2x5 feet. I was wondering if I could make a cage out of it. I wanted to make an all mesh cage earlier, but I want to use as little as possible. Does anyone here have experience with glass cages? I was thinking about 2 glass doors in the front and mesh on the sides. I have not decided what bird to get yet, but it will be no bigger than a quaker. Is 2x2x5 a decent sized cage for a bird that size? Since it will probably harder to hang up toys do you have any advice?

I would recommend using mesh instead of glass-- glass or plexiglass cages have poor ventilation, they can't climb on the glass, and it gets dirty quickly.

Plus the glass sides would be a potential safety hazard- if the bird tries to fly out of the cage only to end up slamming against a glass wall could cause injuries.

I kinda wonder same thing, my cage is tall and thought about having husband do some type of glass surrounding the bottom so i could bit stuff in the bottom for my parakeets cage to dig around in, figuree that would keep it from getting messy. Will be following to hear what people say
