Goldfish surfing???

Last week I noticed that the pond pump was splashing too much water out of the pond with its high fountain of water, so I tilted it so it was more of a "rainbow" shape across the pond to cut down on splash wastage.
I got up early this spring morning and sat outside to watch the finches and as I looked over into the pond, I could see all the fish gathered in one spot. Normally you never see them as they dive under the weeds when we cast a shadow over the pond, but this morning I could see them all easily, and as I watched I swear I saw them surfing the rainbow wave. They will all gather in one clear spot behind the rainbow and then one by one swim into it and get shot out into the pond. Then they swim back into the "line" to go again. I watched for about 5 minutes before I was sure of what I was seeing, then ran for the camera. They haven't done it again since.

Damn fish are too smart to be caught on camera. Would love to see it if it happens again.
