I actually made my account yesterday, but really didn't find the time to post a thread here till... now.

Anyways. My name is Clarissa. My username, and in real life. I am nineteen years old, and... You'll never guess this one... I love birds! Ha! I bet you didn't see that one coming!

I have a 5/6 month old African Fischers hybrid Lovebird. His name is Valentine, he is my sweet, evil, sweet little monster and I love him to pieces.

I'm actually getting another lovebird here in a few weeks, his name is Haku. He's a hybrid between a blue Masked Lovebird and an Orange-Faced lovebird. And actually he is Valentine's half brother, yet they look nothing a like and even though this baby is still so young, he's already a little bit bigger than my little Valentine.

Besides birds, other things I love are... horses, drawing, singing, and writing...

I own a 12 year old ex-racer Thoroughbred, I got her off the track, and have owned her ever since, in May I celebrated my fourth year in owning my beautiful dark bay mare. Her name is Carson.

I am of course still learning about parrots, but I do know my fair share about Lovebirds and some larger parrots. I'm hoping to learn a lot more on this forum and hoping to share the knowledge and experiences I have, and hope that it helps others. I'm looking forward to becoming active in this forum and hope to make lots of new friends!

can I ask where you got the name Haku from?

It's short for Kohaku which means Amber in Japanese... Haku is just shorter and easier to say. I was pressed for a name as Haku was beginning to be very curious and needed a name quickly instead of just saying "BIRD!" to get his attention... We originally thought the yellow on his chest was going to be more dominant than it turned out to be... So... Yeah. Lol

Edit- Carson is gorgeous too! I used to ride a lot, not so much now with uni and all that. She looks lovely!
