- Has a rescue Cockatoo that rules my life, and getting a rescue Ringnek soon
Zoeys story, I heard about her via a friend, never had a bird before her, she was kept in a room with snakes and spiders and bearded dragon. Said friend collected her from this nightmare(she survived 5 years in hell) he took he straight to the vet, undernourished, traumatized and stressed. He called me, all I could say was *she deserves a chance at a happy life* to cut a long story short 2 hours later, I had a female cockatoo.
I dedicated 5 weeks to her, to bond. (went nowhere, this was vital, for Zoey's well being, I treated her like a traumatized 4 yr old. ( my occupation is a trauma counselor)
These 3 months have been one incredible journey, endless, patience, endless research and love just pure unconditional love.
And laughter, I don't think I have ever laughed this much, she is my *beaker of light* who knew I would open my heart, my home, and love a bird this much.
Has learnt so much, at just humbly grateful that she arrived in my life so unexpectedly. Love and patience heals.
