Goo's first words

I am SO excited. Tomorrow will be one week since Gucci came home. Last night at dinner time I was sharing my banana with him and we have this silly banana song I sing to him, he tried to mimic me saying "I love my banana yum yum"! It wasn't real words, but he got the length of the word and the tone right. He will do anything for banana though.
He had been so quiet all week barely making a peep, but last night his true personality just came a shinin on through. He was bobbing his head chattering away and then as loud as can be made his happy parrot call for the first time. I had just told someone what a quiet little baby he was, boy was I wrong!

This morning when I put him away in his house after breakfast I said
"buh bye Gucci" and he said plain as day, GUCCI!

I can not believe he is already talking to me!

Congrats on the 1st word. How old is Gucci? It seem like they learn their name 1st. I bet hes chatting away in a few weeks.

Not exactly sure how old he is yet. The breeder had not received his DNA back in the mail when we went to pick him up so I have to wait for it in the mail with his hatch date and what not. He had completed his weaning around the 1st of September I believe.

That is great that your BFA said his name already.
Today my new Yellow Nape said "How are you today little birdie".
A 6 word sentence is pretty great I think!
I have only had her here for 2 weeks.
She talks in a high voice sometimes & sometimes in a low voice.
My other Yellow Nape says " Lila want a cracker".
I think that is her longest sentence so far.
Aren't parrots entertaining?
My 2 Yellow Napes were both given up at the Humane Society.

Oh Man you are right about that!
He was mumbling on about anything and everything this past weekend. He said pretty bird and banana and MMM MMM. His speech is not too clear yet but I am impressed! My heart just melts when he makes his little birdy noises at me. I have completely fallen in love with him.
