Got a new budgie...

Well, he was the last left in the pet store and I'm a poor sucker for these types of things, so Mr Lancelot has now joined our family. He's currently being kept away from the others whilst he gets used to new sights and sounds but he'll be with them soon enough. He's only a baby, and quite an odd looking one too, he's yellow and grey... with a tinge of blue

Plus I do the breeder a favour and help keep them from turning aggressive for being in the cage in the shop with no handling!

hummm i am beginning to wonder if you have camelot names will you stop getting more birds when the names run out or start calling them page, squire, extra scene 1?? lol

have you given a thought to the name for the gray when he comes?? arther?? sir gwain?? lol

Awww....bless your heart. I'm a sucker too...BIG TIME, so I know your plight all to well. I love keet's and strangely enough, we don't have...even one.

Every time I go to the pet store, my kids have to DRAG me away from the keets! I don't currently have any, goodness knows I don't need any and I'm totally THRILLED with the 5 birds we now own...mind you, we went from ZERO birds to 5 in less then a year...February on a whim, I bought a tiel...then in March HUBBY bought another tiel...(same scenario...only one in the store) Then in May our Conure captured our hearts...then in August 2 more tiels came our way...(our free rehome rescues)

We've vowed to each other...NO MORE BIRDS!!!

5 seems to be our number...5 kids, 5 fish, 5 dogs, 5 horses, 5 birds....but...hubby walked in on our new tiels doing the...umm...yea...and I really thought they were both males.

Time will tell I guess.

Anyway, congratulations on your new keet and aren't you going to share any pictures?

So far we've got a "maybe" on the Greys name, we'll have to see his/her personality first, however I'm jumping on the gwen bandwagon if she is a girl

We have already got an arthur, he's the grey budgie we have. I guess I'll upload a ton of pictures soon. I just need to get some good snaps of them!

I have to hold myself back whenever I go into a bird store. I would happily buy all the little parakeets in the store. I just love them so much. They're so adorable and I love all the different colors they come in. I also have a thing for conures of any kind. It's bad. I wish I could give every sad little birdy a home

My boyfriend always gets emails from a rescue in the area (it's where we got my Dusky Conure from) and I feel so bad and wish I could adopt all the birds that need homes. My Kayak bird was from some man whose wife forced him to give her up. This man LOVED Kayak with all his heart and gave her up because of his wife and the new baby on the way.

Well, that's my rant. I'm a sucker for birds and cats. This is why we've got 4 cats and 5 birds. I'd have more if I could manage it.

btw, I would love to see pictures. My little Spooky is a unique blue coloration and I love seeing other unique parakeet colors.

A few weeks ago I stopped in at the breeders to say hello and she had a clutch ready to home that was the same biological parents of my Bob so......after playing with a few ....one of the boys picked me and to make a long story short..I brought Tom home!

No more visits for me to say hello...lol
