Hi I need some advice, to make a long story short I was mislead when I purchased two green cheek conures. I was told that they were 2 years old and had never had a clutch so making them pets was possible. After further investigation I found that they had had 1 clutch. Very nervous around me but seems to be getting better. Really wanted pets I can handle. Is there hope? They are so cute. I have had them for about 5 months and they will not bath or eat fruits or vegetables. Recently took them a to be DNA tested to make sure what I really have. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Yes there is hope .Do you want to breed them? If not you might want to put them in seperate cages right next to each other but let them play together outside of the cages Don't put a happy hut or nest box or anything that would encourage nesting behavior. Or you could leave them together and just keep working with them. I don't think because they had one clutch you can't turn them into very nice pets. they will probably take more time but they can live a very long time :)

Thanks for the info, so since they are hand shy how do I work with them? They have had a nesting box in their cage for a few month now and no eggs. As soon as you go into the room they run to the box. I got conformation today that they are in deed a boy and girl. I heard spending time talking to them discourages breeding.
