I was curious what the opinions were on cutting nails. This is my GCC, Pico. Rather, a couple pictures of her nails:
Her talons aren't bothering her or me, so that's what I'm going on. I've had her for around a year, and haven't needed to trim her nails once. She uses her sand perch (This: All Living Things® Beach Sand Bird Perch | Perches | PetSmart ) all the time. I even catch her hanging upside down from it at times.
My cockatiel, on the other hand, had some pretty sharp talons that I got trimmed today. I wasn't able to get anyone to help me, so I paid to have them done. It was pretty clear his talons were bothering him as well as me.
Anyway, I was just curious if there were any reasons I should worry if my bird's talons aren't sharp and they aren't getting them stuck on anything.
