Green organic tea.?

Has anyone heard of spraying your birds with organic decade green tea?
We had a meeting at the shelter, and a women in open forum suggested it.

Never spray your bird with anything but fresh, clean water unless explicitly instructed to do so by an avian vet. Their plumage is very delicate and sensitive to foreign substances, even natural and "healthy" ones. Your bird doesn't need anything but water to be clean and to keep his plumage in good condition

Unless told specifically by a CAV, I would ignore such outlandish suggestions. What next? Peptobismol to clean out parrot GI tracts? Clean water, from a clean spray bottle is all you need.
