Hi Everyone!

I'm a pastor, mom to a teenager, wife and proud companion of a 27 year old Congo African Gray. I think Snickers is a she. She came to our home when we followed an ad and found her in a disastrous situation (bird hoarder) and refused to leave her there. She was roughly six months old at the time (an imported bird) and has been with us ever since. Poor thing was traumatized, but we did well for the first several years. Then, she became moody and unpredictable and I started using a towel on my hand to avoid severe bites.
A little over a week ago we changed her diet and started trick training. Already the difference is remarkable! She's so much more trusting and the biting is almost completely eliminated. She's not the cuddliest bird, but we have our moments.
