Hi everyone,
I recently posted about my sweet baby asha lovebird passing away almost two weeks ago. Her cage mate and best friend and sister, Ashu, wonât eat anything except millet seeds now. Iâm quite concerned. Her cage is between two others now so that sheâs surrounded by others. She talks and is active. She used to eat varieties of seed. Especially hulled oats. But since asha passed, she doesnât. Just wondering if anyone has advice on how to help her? Iâm worried about her only eating millet. I feel it mightnât be healthy for her. Most of the birds like millet the most but most of them also have one or two other favourite seeds too that they eat. How often do you provide fruits or vegetables to your birds? We currently give it once a week. Should I increase this for ashu? I remember when we first got the lovebirds we provided vegetables more often but I think we had heard itâs not good every day so we went down to twice or once a week instead. The lovebirds donât like fruit and prefer their vegetables. I donât know how long she will grieve for. Iâm still grieving myself. And concerned for the rest of the lovebirds especially ashu. Theyâve been together since they were born. Any advice appreciated. Thank you.
