There are a lot of new members around here, and I don't know all of you very well, as you don't know me very well. So I wanted to start one of those threads were we can all get to know each other a little more ...

So, finish this sentence (keeping in mind that this is a family minded forum):

No matter how hard I try, right now I can't stop ___________ .

I will go first ~ No matter how hard I try I can't stop playing this stupid video game! All my free time is alloted to it which is really bad because I have so many other things I could be doing ... I am addicted to a game for the Wii system that is called Radiant Dawn ... pretty good game ...

Ok, all of your turns now ... go for it!

:50:

Ok you asked for it: Blowing my nose! My alergies are bothering me and it doesn't help that I'm allergic to feather dander and have umpteen cockatiels and a cockatoo in the house. Just goes to show you that bird addiction is stronger than allergies!

...shopping for Snowboarding stuff!!

We're taking our last boarding trip of the year next weekend, and since the season is starting to dwindle (here, anyway) everything is going on sale and I can't help but almost buy it.

No matter how hard I try, right now I cant stop....

-Thinking of all the non-family-minded jokes that could finish that sentence.
-checking forums.
-studying ARGH, even though grades don't matter, I've got into the grad programs already... yet Im still a perfectionist; or a geek, but I prefer "perfectionist".

BTW, I think there was a thread on this somewhere else, but Zarafia, I had HORRIBLE allergies for quite a while (seasonal type, aggravated more by feather dust), but then I got this air filter by Hamilton Beach - True Air that has been an absolute life saver. I checked out lots of them, but these cheap simple ones work best; they use the filtrete (sp?) filters. LOVE IT, I haven't even had a hint of allergies since.

I also have another thing that I can't stop thinking about and that is opening my own photography studio ... I have been thinking about it constantly for the last 2 to 3 months now ...

Then wake up and slap yourself!
There are a million gifted amateurs out there Tex, and Im sorry to say, your just another one of em. You will pour your soul and all your life savings into a dream like that and it will swallow you whole.
Get a grip man, it was one lucky shot of a drain!

Ok, Red, I'll give you that one ... I am still laughing about that! But let's not confuse the poor people here who didn't see that picture in ANOTHER FORUM ...

Actually, I consider myself pretty good, so do others (and, no ... well yes, my mother is one of them, but so are many other people). My wedding packages do warrant their price tags (and many think I am priced too low) ... This thought wouldn't have even taken shape if it was going to be a situation where I wasn't going to be able to be successful, I don't like to fail, no of us do, but when it comes to money, I really don't do anything without careful consideration ... which is why, as of yet, this idea has not progressed any further than just "thought"

I still had the picture in my Photobucket account, so here is the image Red is referring to:

I will take that backhanded comment and ask you this - what is the difference between a "gifted amateur" and a "young professional" ...

gifted amateurs have a real job?

Kidding, couldn't let that one go.

Best of luck to you tex, I'm all for chasing one's dream. If you make it it'll be awesome, if you don't at least you'll never wonder "what if".

AMEN!

That was really good ... I would add reputation points for that one if this forum used them!

Upon re reading my post, I may have sounded a little harsh.
I was drinking heavily at the time, but If I was sober I would give you the same message, but I would wrap it up in bacon and make you jump for it.
On the other hand, if you are already a successful Wedding snapper, then its not such a leap to being a money making picture taker in general.

Still and all, you should stick to being a pimp till it doesn't pay anymore.
Did you get that new ermine brimmed hat that we saw in the pimp catalogue?

Yes, yes I did ... in a stunning Red velvet ... got one for you too, I am sure Debbie will love it. :18::18::18:

Honestly, I never thought of that ... maybe I can make a career out of being a pimp ... a pimp who takes pictures ... and maybe I could start a web-site ... but that, right there, is not a topic of discussion for this forum! :27::rolleyes:
