Hahn's baby

Hey,
I am new here and not even an owner yet. I am impatiently waiting for my baby Hahn's Macaw to wean (sometime late Aug early Sept) He is 6 weeks old now. My avatar is him 2 weeks ago. I had a lovebird, years ago. I am super excited to welcome this little critter into my family, and I hope to get lots of help and guidance for fellow Hahn's owners!!

OMG what a sweetheart! I have a hahns and they are great. The best advice I can give you it LOTS of interaction, they can be so sweet but also nippy so the more you handle him/her the better.

Ahhh the Hahns, 10% macaw 90% attitude, the tenatious Chihuahua of the bird world.....lol, it really is amazing how so much bird could be bundled in such a small package, good luck with your new fid, and welcome to the forum..............

Thanks for all the replies! I had a lovebird 15 years ago. Sweet little bird. My 4 sons are all grown and I need someone to Mother....Hopefully he does not get too nippy, but I can handle it I did raise 4 boys!!

I have a cage all ready and set up so now I must just wait, and wait, and wait.....

Welcome. Your baby is adorable. It's sooooo hard to wait for them to be fully weaned, isn't it? We went through it twice....driving 150 miles round trip every weekend to see them and start a bond. But it's worth every minute.

Welcome! I have two rescued Hahn's, and they are sweet and have lots of personality!

Your bird is so adorable! Can't wait until I see more!
