i have a pair of captive bred but untrained hahn's macaws and the male just won't stop screaming. what can i do ?
they are set up in a 123cm x 82cm x 178cm cage in the living room where i spend most of my evening.
the female is quiet and no matter what she won't leave the cage and the male will eventually fly out and on to the playstand although he won't get back in without a little chasing. the female is also very quiet while the male makes up very well for screaming and tantrums !
i feed them xfly mix and nutribird P15 pellets mixed in bowls and chopped up fresh fruit daily and i also throw some raw nuts. boiled eggs twice a month which they touch very little and DON'T touch at all raw or cooked veg !
these are the first parrots i ever owned and all the books i read and info on the internet i researched for a couple of months before i got them, are now like fairytale books as most of this info regards hand tamed birds.
if anyone way more expert than me, specially on this particular species can provide me with any help to see some improvement in training and having a well socialized bird,
both me and my birds would be really grateful
thanks in advance,
Matthew.
