I know my previous mistake of handrearing. Also yes im back after a long hiatus. anyways. I have a local breeder with quaker eggs (she has a breeding pair) and knows how to handrear. Would it be a good idea to learn from her then buy an egg and do it on my own? (learn from her as in take a full on "course" that would require some tests she makes, showing me how, teaching me how, letting me do some. it would in total take 5 months she said to train me properly. She has been doing this for 25 years and just want yall's opinion.

Big no-no. Never try to hatch an egg yourself. Too risky and difficult. Hatching a parrot egg is nothing like hatching a chicken egg.
