Harrison's Bird Food fine & Super Fine

I have my conure on Harrison's High potency fine food, my local supplier has only super fine in stock. Having giving him fine for the past 3-4 weeks Is it okay to gave him super fine until they get the fine back in stock.

i have no idea how small it is,but on the other hand the seeds they eat are also really small.
So i think it won't be that bad.

Yup it's just smaller, he may even like them more.

That should be fine. However, if your bird is not a breeder or does not have some other reason to be on the high potency, it can potentially lead to Hypervitaminosis, which can be very dangerous. I applaud you for making sure your bird gets all the nutrients he needs, but I suggest switching from the high potency, and perhaps feeding it once a week or less.

harrisons recommends high potency for the first month i believe ,so that is probably why.
But it is indeed better to go to the regular now.

My budgies get the super fine. The pieces are REALLY small. Same formula though.

Hi understand about the hypervitaminosis but on Harrison's website it states to keep a bird on it for an estimated for 6 months. Rio will be only on it a month around the 7-10 May. I will switch him coming up to the end of the summer as Rio is only three months old he will go through his moult during the summer I read online that GCC start there moult sometimes at 5 months, and I want to keep his strength up during his first moult. As I read they need a lot of vitamins during a moult.

Please correct if I am wrong, as Rio is my bird, I am learning along with Rio.

That should be fine, I just thought I would mention it. Sounds like the company knows exactly how long birds should be on it and lets customers know that

Harrison's is actually recommending the HP formula for 6-8 months before switching to the AL formula, except for certain species that they do recommend keeping on the HP formula. For conures, they do recommend the AL or Pepper Lifetime after the HP.
