Hello I am about to be an owner of a hahns macaw. But I'll get to that later my grandma has a Green cheek conure and he has bonded to me but he hates hands. I have started target training but as soon as I bring my hands in the picture he goes all macho and start to lung. It is not a big deal for me to get bit I just ignore it but I would love for him to start stepping up any suggestions?

As for the green cheek, can you move him via a wooden perch or a rope perch in a loop?
Any possible way to put treats and toys in your hands then sit near him when he's out/on his cage without moving? This may allow him to explore your hands on his own terms without feeling threatened. Once he gets more comfortable with that, you can try moving your hands a little?

Yes as soon as I put my hands in the picture the lunging and macho I'm a mean bird comes out. Other than that he is such a sweet bird loves to preen my hair it's just hands he hates them. Also he takes treats out of my hand fine it's when I have no treat he bites. And thanks you I am very excited!
